Show Notes

#34:   Andy Short joins us today to break down the many stories that make up his life and recovery.  With humor and wisdom, he shares the journey that led to his recovery... and the wild ride that came next.

Content Warning: Discussion of suicidal ideation (thoughts of suicide)

  • We discuss our individual, ever changing narratives, and how they shape our reality,
  • How comparison was Andy’s first drug,
  • We hear about love and loss: how his mom supported him through many chapters of his story, and her words that changed the course of his life,
  • When he asked , "Do you want to hear The Gay Story?” we of COURSE said yes.... and you may be surprised to learn this story occurred several years into recovery.
  • And how Andy’s recovery community supported him through times that seemed impossible to survive, and why we show up for one another.
