The Phoenix Sober Active Community

#104: Tara Mastracchio (she/her) is the CEO and Founder of Samay Trauma Recovery and Resiliency.  With a lifetime of learning to confront and overcome trauma, Tara walks with others to help them recognize and overcome their own trauma. Tune into the episode to hear the conversation as we discuss Samay International and more:

  • How a plan to move to Central America for 2 months turned into 8 years of travel to 25 countries over 5 continents with 9 different languages.
  • Learning to trust your intuition again, and the idea that "if that door opens, I will walk through it; and if it doesn't, I'm supposed to go somewhere else."
  • Cleaning out the closet underneath the steps: looking back to see what made us turn to substances for a solution in the first place.
  • We didn't create trauma by ourselves, so we don't have to solve it alone. Connection heals!
