Stewart Powell: Adventure, Challenge, and Connection on the Pacific Crest Trail
Show Notes

#101: Stewart Powell is back from his 2,650 mile trek along the Pacific Crest Trail and is here to tell us about his journey. For Stewart, this journey was the demarcation between his old and new life. What was always a bucket list item but never a possibility in active addiction, hiking the PCT felt like the perfect way to celebrate one year of sobriety. Check out the episode to hear about Stewart's adventure, including:

  •  His time solo on the trail and the opportunity to be alone with his thoughts in a positive manner.
  • All the parallels to recovery: embarking on a journey because you feel called to do it; finding community; enhancing the experience by connection.
  • How the landscape was only half the experience... a huge part of the journey were the folks he met along the way, including his 'tramily.'
  • The funny thing about epiphanies on the trail.
  • How he felt finishing the PCT: he's still the same guy just with a little more experience and an immense sense of gratitude and humility.
