Jamen: It Takes More Than Willpower
Show Notes

#7: 8 years of sobriety had Jamen convinced that his willpower was strong enough to control every aspect of his life and recovery.  After discovering that (spoiler alert) this was not true, he found that surrender is the key to unlocking everything he'd ever hoped for.  This episode has it all: reminders that we ARE ok, permission to get emotional, the power of authenticity, and some very cool stories about a famous athlete that Jamen unexpectedly joined forces with!

As Jamen says, "Recovery is personal."  Weight loss is part of Jamen's personal story, and if that is a topic that is unsafe for you, it's ok to wait for next week, or to have a trusted friend listen first.  We do not discuss Eating Disorders (ED) in this episode, but recognize that ED is part of recovery for many of us.  Please take care of yourself above all else.

Jamen runs in honor of his dad, who has been battling Parkinson's Disease for over 11 years.  You can learn more about Jamen's documentary at https://www.run4ben.com/.
